Matevulu Lodge – Freediving
We offer you to discover freediving with the only AIDA school in Vanuatu. AIDA is the international association for the development of apnea, which promote freediving around the world and supervise all freediving competitions and world records attempts. Freediving is the most natural and serene way to explore the depths of the oceans with minimal impact. It is not simply about how long you can hold your breath or how deep you can go, it is also paying attention to the limits of your body and mind.
With Edouard, you will discover how to feel more confident underwater, challenge your limits and surprise yourself. You will learn relaxation and breathing exercises, a good diving technique and all about theory and safety. You will then be able to free yourself and spend more time enjoying the beauty and the silence of the sea. So join us and explore the wonderful Blue World surrounding Santo!
We offer different tours:
AIDA Level 1: Ideal for those who don’t feel confident in the water. We introduce you safely to the world of Freediving with this 1-day tour including theory and practice. Duration: 1 day. Max depth: 10m.
AIDA Level 2: Already confident underwater? Pass directly your level 2 to improve your technique and practice safely. Duration: 2 days. Max depth: 20m.
AIDA Level 3: This is an advance course for certified free divers who want to improve their skills and progress in depth. Duration: 3 days. Max depth: 30m.
Training Session: For certified free divers who want to practice safely on a supervised session. Duration: 3h.
Exploration Tour: Enjoy a half day of freediving fun around Matevulu area exploring different reef and a plane wreck. Duration: half day.
All our tours include free diving gear, PDF book, certification fees and a snack for levels 1 to 3. Not included: wetsuit, lunch, blue hole entrance fee if you wish to practice in it. Maximum of 4 people per tour. The meeting point is at Matevulu Lodge.
